Please understand that I have experience with all of these companies, and I only recommend them because they are helpful and useful, and not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something. Protecting Your Files:
Carbonite is an easy and affordable way to back up files online. It was founded as a company serving primarily homes and small business users. Today, the folks at Carbonite protect data for more than 1.5 million customers and organizations. They are dedicated to backing up and protecting your files. It is worth every penny!
We use Dropbox everyday for our team to have access to the same files. It also serves as a system to back up our important business items. Dropbox is free until you reach a certain storage threshold. Many teacher authors use Dropbox to store products that they sell on their own websites. Here’s a special Dropbox referral link so you can get an extra 500 MB of bonus space.
After trying several different email list management programs, Mailerlite is my number one recommendation for email list management. Mailerlite makes managing your email list and setting up autoresponders so easy and user-friendly. One of the great advantages of Mailerlite is that the built-in templates they offer that make it easy to get started. In the teaching industry, showing products in action is crucial and Mailerlite lets you do just that. With their forever free program, you can have 1,000 subscribers without any costs to you. I highly recommend using them for your email list building because it’s affordable, user-friendly and effective.
Sitting at a desk all day is hard! This was one of the hardest things for me after leaving a classroom setting. I was used to being on my feet and moving around all day every day. As a teacher-author, we spend most of our time in front of the computer. One solution is to use a Varidesk. It allows you to alternate between sitting and standing in no matter of time- in just 3 seconds – much faster than other solutions. Easily lifts to 11 different adjustable heights. I like to set a timer for 1 hour and then I rotate between sitting and standing. I love my Varidesk.
